A New UK Focused, Encaustic Wax Online Event and Exhibition

This event will be a virtual encaustic art gathering, designed to bring together UK-based encaustic artists for a creative and collaborative experience.

It will provide a real-time shared studio environment, where artists can connect, discuss their work and create together.

'The Art of Place' is a themed prompt to inspire, and for you to respond to.

The artworks produced will be showcased in an online exhibition in Spring 2026, to celebrate the variety of encaustic styles and interpretations.

The event is designed to strengthen the UK encaustic community, providing much needed space for interaction, inspiration and artistic exchange.

HOW IT WORKS:

Register now, and receive more information from Lyn & Julie, about 'The Art of Place'. We will also share information about the IEA, and direct you to useful encaustic resources.

You will receive Zoom joining links and reminders by e-mail nearer the start date.

To connect with other UK based encaustic artists... Live encaustic shares from Lyn / Julie. Explain how the project will work, key submission dates, and exhibition deadlines.

Weds 29th October 2025 - 11am UK Time - Mid Project Check In...

This is an informal chat, sharing of ideas, tools and techniques. Directing anybody who needs extra support with their work. The key emphasis is community, connection and encouragement, with more live encaustic sharing from Lyn / Julie

Thurs 29th Jan 2026 - 11am UK Time - Show & Tell...!

This is your opportunity to show off all of your hard work...! Come with your finished piece(s)? and give us a brief overview of how you created it, and what it means to you.

To be included, you must send us a high res photo of your finished piece, and a few words about your work. The final deadline for inclusion in the online exhibition is 31st January at midnight.

Sat 28th March 2026 - 6pm UK Time - Online Exhibition Launch...

We share our work with the world...!

This is our opportunity to showcase the wide and varied talent of Encaustic Artists in the UK.

We will be sharing and promoting the exhibition for two weeks.

Please help us by sharing this exhibition far and wide during this period!

Tues 28th April 2026 - 7pm UK Time - After exhibition closes - Feedback...

We will join together for one final time on Zoom. Get feedback on how everyone found the event, would we do it again? What is the appetite for growth and expansion of Encaustic Wax in the UK?

When Does 'The Art of Place' Begin?

The kick off for this event will be on our first Zoom call, on 30th September, at 11am UK Time. However, on signing up, expect to receive an e-mail with some information from Lyn & Julie about what to expect. Please check your junk mail if you do not receive it.

Can I Sign Up After The Project Has Officially Started?

Yes! You can join at any time during the project, however, you will only be able to participate in the exhibition if you have submitted your artwork and words by the 31st January 2026 deadline.

Will There Be A Replay Of The Calls?

Yes... Replays will be available for those who can't make it live. Everything will be hosted on our Encaustic Hive UK page which you will go live after our first call.

Replays will be uploaded as soon as possible after each event. (It can take a bit of time for the videos to process, so please be patient!)

Can I Join If I Don't Live In The UK?

Unfortunately, as this event has been granted by the IEA, as a UK focused community and connection building event, only UK based artists are permitted to join.

Can I Use Other Art Mediums For This Event?

This event is solely focused on Encaustic (Hot Wax) Art, so therefore no other art mediums will be accepted, including cold wax.

Is This There Any Selection Process For This Exhibition?

No. This exhibition is open to any person practicing the art of Encaustic Painting in the UK, all levels of experience welcome. As long as you submit your art and details by the submission date, your work will be included, however we reserve the right to refuse entry to any works that are deemed offensive or at detriment to the ethos of the event.
