Yes... Replays will be available for those who can't make it live. Everything will be hosted on our Encaustic Hive UK page which you will go live after our first call.
Replays will be uploaded as soon as possible after each event. (It can take a bit of time for the videos to process, so please be patient!)
Unfortunately, as this event has been granted by the IEA, as a UK focused community and connection building event, only UK based artists are permitted to join.
Please refer to the IEA website, to see if there are other events taking place in your area of the world. https://www.international-encaustic-artists.org/
This event is solely focused on Encaustic (Hot Wax) Art, so therefore no other art mediums will be accepted, including cold wax.
No. This exhibition is open to any person practicing the art of Encaustic Painting in the UK, all levels of experience welcome. As long as you submit your art and details by the submission date, your work will be included, however we reserve the right to refuse entry to any works that are deemed offensive or at detriment to the ethos of the event.
The purpose of this event 'The Art of Place' was to gauge the interest of encaustic in the UK with a view to being a pilot for future events under an 'Encaustic Hive UK' group.
The final Zoom call on Tuesday 28th April 2026 is to get feedback from participants and discuss possible next steps for Encaustic Hive UK. If you sign up below before that date, you will receive an invite to that Zoom call.
You can join the wait list at any time to be notified of future developments or events.
If you're in the UK, there are a number of artists offering in person encaustic workshops, you can see details of some of the artists who are running workshops at the time of the exhibition on page 35 of the exhibition here to see if anyone is near you. Additionally, Julie Wrathall offers a number of online courses, and an encaustic membership space 'The Wax Works' which provides exactly this kind of community approach to working with wax, wherever you are in the world.
